Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are set to lock horns in a big Premier League battle for the top four on Sunday.
Unai Emery‘s Villans currently sit fourth in the table, five points and one place above Ange Postecoglou‘s Spurs.
Both Villa and Tottenham have seen an upturn in league form of late. The Villans have won their last three in the top flight, while Spurs defeated Crystal Palace last week.
The claret-and-blue outfit was also in Europa Conference League action in midweek, drawing 0-0 away at Ajax in their last-16 first leg.
Chris Sutton reckons Aston Villa v Tottenham is hard one to call
Every Premier League matchday, there are pundits who share their thoughts and predictions on the fixtures. Chris Sutton is one of those, writing on BBC Sport.
He admits that Aston Villa v Tottenham is a particularly hard one to call, and while he predicts that the Villans will run out 3-2 winners, it’s very much a gut decision for him.
“What I have found difficult about making predictions this season is that there seems to be more games where there is not an outcome that would surprise me,” wrote Sutton.

“I’d usually expect some patterns to be obvious where you automatically think one team is going to win or lose but there have not been many so far, other than those involving the clubs at the very bottom of the table.
“Instead, this is another example of a game where Villa could win or lose 3-0, or it could be a 3-3 draw.
“Villa’s home form was very reliable for a while but even that has dropped off in the past few weeks and, although I am still going to say they will edge this, it is only a guess and not really based on anything concrete.”
Aston Villa and Tottenham to draw in high-scoring affair – opinion
You can’t really disagree with what Sutton said about how hard this game is to call.
This season, it has almost been a free-for-all when it comes to quite a lot of results, particularly when it comes to the teams outside the championship race or the relegation race.
Both Villa and Tottenham can beat anyone on their day, but also lose to anyone if things don’t click for them on the day.
I’ll sit on the fence here and predict a 2-2 draw, but it honestly could go either way. And you could have any amount of goals – a 1-0 wouldn’t surprise me, and a 6-3 wouldn’t surprise me either.
