Chris Sutton makes Harry Kane prediction ahead of Tottenham vs Arsenal
Spurs were battered by the Gunners at the Emirates in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka sealed an excellent win for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Kane, as he almost always does, scored in that game, but Sutton does not believe he’ll do that this Sunday.
Chris Sutton says Harry Kane will not score for Tottenham vs Arsenal
Kane has played 16 times against Arsenal in the Premier League over the years, and his personal record is absolutely incredible. He has scored in all but four of those fixtures – 14 goals in total, more than any other player in North London Derby history.
The Englishman, branded as an ‘amazing’ player, has scored three times in his last two appearances against Arsenal as well, and he will surely back himself to find the net again on Sunday.
Sutton, however, feels there’s absolutely no chance of that happening. He thinks Arsenal will ‘wipe the floor’ with Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
The pundit wrote on BBC Sport: “I know Harry Kane loves playing against Arsenal. I also know he can break Greaves’ record this weekend, but he won’t.
“He won’t score, and Tottenham won’t score – Arsenal are going to wipe the floor with them.”
If there’s one person you’ll bet your house on to score in a North London Derby, it has to be Kane – his record of 14 goals in 16 games shows that.
He will be Tottenham’s main man once again this Sunday, and if he has a good game, Spurs will likely get something out of the game, especially as they are at home.
However, Arsenal are not an easy side to face these days. Mikel Arteta has well and truly transformed the Gunners, who are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table – five points clear of Manchester City.
The game this Sunday will surely be an exciting one, and we’re sure Kane will make the headlines – one way or another.
