Chris Sutton hammers four Celtic players after Champions League exit
Chris Sutton has slammed four Celtic players after their embarrassing Champions League exit. The Hoops were dumped out at the first hurdle, losing 3-2 on aggregate to FC Midtjylland.
It represents a blow to new boss Ange Postecoglou who got his time at Celtic off to the worst possible start.
The Hoops failed to make the Champions League group stages last season too and Sutton thinks the owners have to take a long, hard look at themselves.

Sutton served Celtic will distinction as a centre forward and he thinks Postecoglou deserves an apology from the club’s board of directors.
Speaking after the game, it was four Celtic players who came in for criticism, however, including three goalkeepers.
He told Premier Sports, via the Daily Record: “It’s embarrassing. It’s not on the manager, it’s on the board.
“Every Celtic fan knows they needed a goalkeeper who was up to it. Barkas, Bain and Hazard aren’t up to it – why haven’t Celtic acted?
“Nir Bitton once again playing a Champion League qualifier. Why on earth was Kristoffer Ajer sold?”
Celtic need for a goalkeeper is right to be highlighted by Sutton
The former striker typically has a lot to say but on this occasion, he’s absolutely spot on.
For a club the size of Celtic to get through as many goalkeepers as they did last season is ridiculous.
The links to Joe Hart are interesting. He would perhaps add some experience but ultimately he is way past his best.
Celtic’s recruitment in the mire somewhat and last night’s result isn’t the confidence boost they needed ahead of the new season.
Postecoglou will be banging his head against the wall that he’s not been granted more new signings.
After last night’s debacle, he will be knocking on a few doors.
On the back of Sutton’s comments, he’d be wise to demand a new first-choice goalkeeper and an established central defender.
