Chris Sutton delivers three-word verdict on Celtic star Jeremie Frimpong’s comments

Jeremie Frimpong starred in just his third Celtic appearance on Sunday afternoon as Neil Lennon’s side demolished Aberdeen 4-0 at Pittodrie – and Chris Sutton has delivered a three-word Twitter verdict on his post-match comments.

Frimpong, 18, was one of a flurry of late signings made by Neil Lennon towards the end of the window. He joined on a free transfer, after failing to make a single appearance for Manchester City at senior level.

The Netherlands youth international had managed 21 appearances for Manchester City’s Under-23 side and he has since shined for Celtic – even scoring in his third outing for the Hoops with a close-range finish after a one-two with Odsonne Edouard.

Frimpong was clearly delighted as he told BT Sport after the match: “I enjoyed it a lot. The team played really well from the start, first minute, kept the ball well. We dominated them and I am proud of my team.

On his goal: “It was everything I wanted. I got my first assist in the first home game, and then a goal. It was quality, and the fans, I love them. I hope we can keep it up, I’m enjoying my time here.”

TBR’s view – Elhamed, Bauer or Frimpong?

Elhamed has been steady since being introduced as Mikael Lustig’s replacement – but an injury against Lazio on Thursday night could mean either Frimpong or Moritz Bauer have the chance to shine.

Frimpong got the surprise shout to start ahead of the much more experienced Bauer at Pittodrie on Sunday, and Lennon’s risky decision paid off. Frimpong starred, and has certainly made a case for himself to start going forward.
