Chris Sutton claims what Tim Sherwood told him about Tottenham star

Chris Sutton has told the Daily Mail that Tim Sherwood said to him that Harry Kane would play in exactly the same way if Tottenham paid him just £1-a-week!

Sherwood and Sutton were part of the Blackburn Rovers team that won the Premier League in 1995 and are both now finding their way in the world of punditry.

It was during Sherwood’s tenure as manager where Kane was handed the chance to establish himself as a Tottenham regular.

Sutton who works as a pundit for BBC and BT Sport has been explaining what Sherwood told him about the man he thinks is the best striker in the world.

He told the Daily Mail: “Tottenham have the most complete centre forward in world football in Harry Kane. I spoke to Tim Sherwood over lockdown about Kane.

‘They get their backsides wiped for them,’ he said of modern footballers. But Kane? ‘He would play the same way for £1 per week.’

“Sherwood noted that Kane is a No 9 and No 10 rolled into one and we’re seeing evidence of that now. With him and Jose Mourinho, they are definitely in the title race.”

TBR View – Tottenham can’t be discounted from the title race

In these unprecedented times, Tottenham winning the Premier League for the first time shouldn’t be ruled out.

The team led by Mourinho haven’t lost in the league since a defeat to Everton on the opening day of the season.

With Kane in his new role under Mourinho, he has been able to strike up a superb partnership with Son Heung-min.

The 27-year-old is among the world’s greatest in his position and his professionalism is certainly a string to his bow.

With Kane spearheading the Spurs attack, they simply can’t be discounted from hoisting the Premier League trophy aloft in May.
