Chris Sutton believes that Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino needs to do more for his team when the stakes are high.
The Reds are now coming to the business end of the season and have plenty still to play for.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have Porto in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while they currently lead Manchester City by two points in the Premier League table having played a game more.
Sadio Mane has been Liverpool’s saviour recently by scoring in the last three consecutive games across all competitions and looks the team’s best threat.
Pundit Sutton has urged Firmino to do more and feels the team needs more goals from him.
“I do feel Firmino has to step up I really do. They have been reliant on Salah and Mane and they need others to come to the fore at a time when it really matters now,” Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He needs to be more ruthless at this stage of the season because we have talked about Liverpool’s midfield comparing them to City’s midfield and City have goals.”

TBR’s View:
Firmino’s a pivotal cog in the Liverpool system for his incredible work-rate and he spearheads the attack so well too.
The Brazilian is great at link up play with his teammates and makes some intelligent movements in the box.
His tally of 13 goals across all competitions so far this campaign is perhaps just below part at this moments in time, considering he managed a return of 27 last season.
The centre-forward definitely has the qualities to raise his goalscoring form in the remaining months and an internatonal break now could help him recharge his batteries.
