Chris Sutton has claimed that Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard has been unable to fill the void left by Leigh Griffiths.
Bhoys striker Griffiths has been taking a break from football since December to resolve personal issue, which has meant on the pitch it’s been up to others to score the goals.
Edouard has been one of the main men to try step up in the centre-forward role, while January loan signing Oliver Burke has also filled.
The 21-year-old Frenchman has scored stoppage time winners against Hearts and Dundee in recent games to cement the team’s position at the top of the league.
But BT Sport pundit Sutton is still wanting more from the target man and feels he’s yet to hit the heights that Griffiths has in a Celtic shirt.
“Edouard has nabbed a couple of last-gasp goals away to Hearts and Dundee to win games but I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t seen anything which compensates or makes up for Griffiths’ absence,” Sutton wrote in the Daily Record

TBR’s View:
Edouard has 18 goals across all competitions this season in 43 games, but there is a feeling that there is still more to come from him at Parkhead.
Celtic have high expectations of the youngster after making his move to Scotland permanent in the summer and he’s got pressure on his head to deliver.
There has to be some patience shown when it comes to the young striker, but the early signs are that he can be an important player under Neil Lennon and his goals look like firing Celtic to another league title.
