Chris Sutton has claimed that Arsenal may look to target Manchester United defender Luke Shaw as a weakness when the two teams clash on Sunday at Old Trafford.
The Gunners travel to rivals Man United this weekend for a Premier League fixture and surprisingly both teams currently find them themselves in the bottom half of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s side have lost back-to-back Premier League matches by 1-0 scorelines, but in-between that have managed to win twice in the Europa League group stages.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have bounced back from the 6-1 humiliation against Tottenham with four league points against Newcastle United and Chelsea, plus they’ve beaten Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig recently in the Champions League group stages.
The momentum is certainly with the hosts right now, but pundit Sutton has suggested that Arsenal may look to expose their left-back.
Shaw, who cost Man United £27million (BBC), still has inconsistency in his game as a defender despite some improved performances of late and perhaps the 25-year-old will be under the spotlight this weekend.
“Arteta could move Aubameyang to the right if the 31-year-old is having no joy on the left, and that is where United seem vulnerable. Luke Shaw is not convincing at times and could be targeted,” Sutton told the Daily Mail.

TBR’s View:
It’s going to take a specular performance from an individual to get the better of Man United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the weekend, as he’s a superb defender that loves one-on-one situations and is rarely beaten.
It would make perfect sense for Arsenal to target the opposite flank, but using Aubameyang out of position on the right makes little sense and the manager needs to stop moving him to all attacking areas of the pitch.
Nicolas Pepe may be a worthy shout as the right-winger against Man United considering he’s got the confidence of a goal in midweek, alternatively Bukayo Saka has the pace and trickery to run at Shaw.
