Liverpool host Tottenham on Sunday in the Premier League and Chris Sutton has claimed it’s a “must-win” game for them.

The Merseyside club welcome Spurs to Anfield, as domestic football resumes after the international break.

Jurgen Klopp’s team currently sit top of the Premier League table with a two point cushion over second-placed Manchester City, but have played a game more.

It looks like the title race could go down to the wire, but Liverpool have arguably their toughest fixture remaining at home to Spurs at the weekend.

“This is a must-win for Liverpool. There is no margin for error. Even a draw at this stage is like a loss because Manchester City are waiting to pounce on any mistakes,” Sutton wrote in the Daily Mail.

“He knows his Liverpool side have to hit the ground running and make sure they stay in this race.”

TBR’s View:

Liverpool may need seven wins out of seven to end up with the title the way Manchester City are going, but all they can do is take it each game at a time.

They certainly have got the players to pick up maximum points in the remaining games and will hope that Mohamed Salah can rediscover his top goalscoring form.

But there is also the added complication of the Champions League, where the Reds have Porto in the quarter-finals of the competition and may be eyeing revenge after losing to Real Madrid in the final last year.

Spurs are going to be a threat on the counter at Anfield, but Liverpool should get three points if they start well and get rid of the early nerves.
