Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage react to Derby win over Leeds

Derby County produced a stunning display away at Leeds United to progress to the Championship play-off final.

The Rams trailed 1-0 from the first leg after losing at Elland Road, but won 4-3 at Elland Road to set up the final against Aston Villa.

Stuart Dallas scored twice for hosts Leeds, but visitors Derby netted through Jack Marriott (two), Mason Mount and Harry Wilson.

Pundit and ex-Derby midfielder Savage expressed his delight on social media following the dramatic Wednesday night match.

“Wow wow wow incredible both sides! Super super Frank super super Frank. Amazing, incredible performance,” Savage wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Meanwhile, pundit Sutton also weighed in on social media and feels the Premier League would have benefited from Leeds’ arrival.

“Superb game that. Well done to Derby and Frank Lampard and Jody Morris Sad for Leeds… the Premier League would be a better place with them in it,” Sutton wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

Derby’s stunning performance at Elland Road certainly meant they earned their spot in the play-off final and they will take huge belief ahead of their trip to Wembley.

The Rams snuck into the play-offs and now have huge momentum to take on Villa.

Meanwhile, it’s crushing for Leeds to miss out on promotion after a brilliant season under Marcelo Bielsa and they looked strong favourites to knockout Leeds.

It’s going to take some time for the dust to settle at Leeds before they can look to next season and try to go again.
