Celtic defender is reportedly set to complete a move to Premier League club Arsenal on Thursday’s deadline day.

According to the Sun, Arsenal have agreed a £25million deal with the Scottish champions for the highly-rated left-back.

It is understood that the 22-year-old has travelled to the Emirates Stadium to discuss personal terms and have a medical on Thursday.

The report explains that Arsenal have been chasing his signature all summer and may finally land their man after negotiations.

Tierney has been a major success since breaking into the first-team at Parkhead and has 11 major honours to show for it.

The Scotland international is an attack-minded left-back that will be a major loss for Celtic, but a potentially brilliant addition for Arsenal and the Premier League.

Ex-Celtic players Chris Sutton and John Hartson have both reacted to the Tierney news to wish him good luck, while stating that it’s an excellent piece of business for Arsenal.

“All the best to Kieran Tierney at Arsenal… £25 million is cheap… once he’s fit Arsenal will have a good player on their hands,” Sutton wrote on his personal Twitter account.

“Arsenal are getting a fine player, a wonderfully grounded boy, been brought up in humble surroundings, I can only wish Kieran Tierney a great career. Been brilliant for Celtic. Good luck mate,” Hartson wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Tierney is an excellent one-on-one defender that has experienced European football with Celtic and it will be intriguing to see how he copes with a change of scenery.

He’s likely to provide an attacking threat to Unai Emery’s team too from full-back, as he managed 37 assists in 170 games for the Bhoys.
