Celtic legend Chris Sutton has moved to have a little dig at Sunderland manager Michael Beale after Sunderland lost to Newcastle this afternoon.
The Tyne/Wear derby was all but over minutes into the second half as Alexander Isak capitalised on a shocking Sunderland mistake to all but end any hope for the home side.
An own goal from Dan Ballard had given Newcastle the lead, before Isak scored and then scored again just before the end from the penalty spot to make things 3-0.

Of course, for new Sunderland manager Michael Beale, it was a taste of derby action, something he is used to having come back to England after managing Rangers.
The former Rangers boss had a dismal record as manager of the Ibrox club against rivals Celtic.
And taking to X, former Celtic man Sutton couldn’t resist a dig.
Newcastle were streets ahead of Sunderland
For all the excitement ahead of the game and dreams of an unlikely Sunderland win, this just showed how far Newcastle are ahead right now.
Yes, the goals came from an own goal, a mistake, and then a penalty, but the gulf in class and quality was so obvious.
Newcastle just looked like a team who had spent 100s of millions over the last few windows and in the end, it showed on the pitch.
For Eddie Howe, it was a big win to stop the rot of recent bad results.
For Mick Beale, well, there’s not a lot he can really do. But his start at Sunderland hasn’t exactly been amazing and a loss in a big derby like this won’t do him any favours.
Sutton, as we know, loves a wind up and this is just his way of getting involved and sticking the knife in while he can.
