Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are both in the hunt to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Thorgan Hazard, according to German outlet Bild.
Just as his brother Eden is tearing up the Premier League this season, Hazard is enjoying an excellent season in the Bundesliga, with nine goals to his name so far.
And Bild report that his manager Dieter Hecking has stated he will not be leaving the club in January, leaving the London rivals to battle it out with Sevilla, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for his signature in the summer.
They also report that Chelsea – who had Hazard between 2012 and 2015 – have a buyback clause in his contract, but it only comes into effect in the summer.

With Gladbach ruling out the prospect that Spurs could steal a march and seal a January deal before Chelsea’s option to buy comes into effect, it appears that the Blues are ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s side in what could prove to be a very hotly contested transfer chase.
Chelsea arguably need him more as well – it would surely boost Eden’s desire to stay at Stamford Bridge and Maurizio Sarri needs a more reliable wide option than Willian.
