Willian – 6

His pace and drive down the wing was a threat and helped to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in his own half whenever possible. Lacked an end product to match. Perhaps unfortunate to be booked for diving.

Michy Batshuayi – 5

The form shown in pre-season vanished at Wembley and Batshuayi looked a passenger at times. He often dropped too deep looking for the ball and found himself on top of his own midfield, rather than looking to get on the end of passes from the likes of Fabregas and Kante.

Pedro – 5

Sent off in controversial fashion, when Bobby Madley could perhaps have shown yellow. In a competitive game, he could easily have seen red for a nasty challenge. Had attacked with energy before that, but failed to produce a real threat.
