Cesar Azpilicueta – 6

Booked fairly on, Azpilicueta was quietly reliable as he often is. Tested Bobby Madley’s patience with a show of dissent late on and appeared to show signs of frustration. Still looked comfortable and did just enough to prevent Theo Walcott from finding a winner late on.

David Luiz – 7

Calm and collected, one spectacular header back to Thibaut Courtois whilst looking the other way whilst under pressure typified his afternoon. Battled hard with Olivier Giroud to keep the Blues in the lead.

Gary Cahill – 7

Human battering ram, taking out two giants in Per Mertesacker and David Luiz. Solid and the leader at the back, he did brilliantly well to win the header which set up Victor Moses to open the scoring.
