Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson helped himself to a hat-trick tonight as the Blues finally saw off Tottenham on Monday Night Football.
Jackson scored three goals late in the second half to put Spurs to the sword and round off a mad night of football in North London.
In the end, Tottenham’s ill-discipline in getting Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero sent off cost them, as Ange Postecoglou refused to change his tactics in a move that, in the end, cost them.
Of course, on the flipside of things, no striker in England needed the goals more than Chelsea’s Jackson.
Indeed, to do it in a London derby will have meant even more to him.
And speaking after the game to Sky Sports, Jackson admitted he was actually impressed with the Tottenham fans in the game.
Nicolas Jackson sums up Tottenham fans in one word
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Jackson conceded he needed to be at it given how good the Spurs stadium and fans are.
“Yeah, amazing stadium and amazing fans but we needed to fight and try to win the game so we are very happy,” Jackson said in his interview.

Jackson has struggled in the main since signing for more than £30m in the summer but Mauricio Pochettino has kept faith with the Senegal striker in the main.
Tonight, he got his reward and all of a sudden the stats sheet looks that little bit better for the Chelsea man.
Chelsea will now hope to build from this and for Mauricio Pochettino, it was the ideal night to go back to his former club and take a big three points.
At the end of the day, Chelsea’s players kept their discipline that little bit better than Tottenham’s and at this level, that is crucial.
