According to a report from the Sun, Chelsea have joined the long list of clubs keen on signing Torino’s Brazilian defender, Gleison Bremer, during the January window.
Bremer is into the last 18 months of his contract with Torino and there is little to no sign of the South American putting pen to paper. A number of clubs are keen, with the Sun naming Liverpool, West Ham, Tottenham, and now Chelsea among those wanting to land Bremer.
Coincidentally, reports from Italy this weekend – as covered on TBR – have claimed Torino are open to selling Bremer for £21m in January. Those reports came as it emerged that AC Milan had also got their eye on the 24-year-old.

For Chelsea, getting a new defender in could be crucial. The likes of Rudiger, Christensen, and Silva are all out of contract in the summer. Thomas Tuchel, then, could well need to address things in January.
Bremer has been outstanding for Torino in recent seasons. Since joining in 2018, he’s already made nearly 100 appearances and is widely considered one of Italy’s best defenders. It’s claimed Chelsea watched the defender last week, and were impressed by what they saw.
TBR’s View: Chelsea To Put A Spanner In The Works For Tottenham
While this latest report lists a number of clubs, it is Tottenham who are most keen on Bremer. Fabio Paratici is thought to be a huge admirer of the South American. However, Chelsea’s interest here is a problem.
The Blues can offer Champions League football as a guarantee. Further, they can also offer Bremer a place in the starting XI. Especially, given the contractual situations of the other Chelsea defenders at the moment.
£21m is also petty change to Chelsea. If they want Bremer, they’ll probably just go and pay the money. With January around the corner, Tottenham and other clubs will need to act quickly.
