Following the recent one-year contract offer made to Chelsea veteran John Terry, we are beginning to see the Blues get more involved with activity on the transfer front this summer.

First up on Chelsea’s latest transfer roundup is the 23-year-old centre-forward, Alvaro Morata. The Spain international has accumulated a total of 27 goals in the last two seasons, both of which the Italian side have been title winners.

The striker has an approximate valuation of £40 million, with Chelsea hoping to complete a deal before the start of Euro 2016, according to the Guardian.

However, Real Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in Morata, wishing to bring him back to reportedly sell him on for profit by activating his £23 million buy-back clause, complicating Chelsea’s chances of bringing the Spaniard to the Premier League.

Alvaro joined his former club, Real Madrid, back in 2008. In the next season, the young Spaniard managed to score 34 goals for his side as well as securing two titles as a player in their youth team.

The following two seasons, the forward was only given the opportunity to make three appearances for the senior team, only bagging a senior goal in the 2012/13 season for the Spanish giants against Levante.

In the campaigns to follow, whilst still playing at the Bernabeu, the youngster managed to play a more established role in the Real Madrid setup, eventually earning him a move to his current Serie A side where he would continue his success.

Over the course of his career, the striker has proved to possess excellent skill playing on the flanks and in the centre of the pitch, demonstrating good versatility and ability to play in more than one forward role.

In addition to this, at a height of 6’3”, he has exceptional ability when it comes to winning battles in the air.

With the combination of this and his deadly finishing, Chelsea’s current options in the final third may have a job on their hands earning a place in the London club’s starting eleven if Chelsea manage to secure the signature of Alvaro Morata.

Additionally, Romelu Lukaku is rumoured to be on Chelsea’s radar during the summer transfer window, the Guardian reporting the southwest London club wish to bring the 23-year-old Belgian back from his current club, Everton, to Stamford Bridge.

According to the Independent, the Everton striker has indicated his disappointment with the lack of progress made whilst playing for the Merseyside club and has declared his desire to move to a club possessing more of a “trophy-winning mindset”, believing a move back to the Blues is the correct decision at this point in his career.

During the past three years playing at Goodison Park the Belgian forward has managed to bag a respectable 43 premier league goals, but wishes to further his achievements by winning trophies at Chelsea.

He is a very physical player, boasting the same height as Alvaro Morata, 6’3”, whilst also being quick on the ball, having the ability to burst past defenders when needed to. All of this makes him very effective in a centre-forward role, with his goal tally proving he can put the ball past a top keeper and into the back of the net.

Should the move take place, competition for forward roles in the side’s starting eleven will be hot next season, especially if the Morata transfer is more than just a rumour. Although differences in ability between the two are few, Morata would be the more likely to experience the most first team action throughout the 2016/17 season.

Finally, Leicester City’s midfielder N’Golo Kante is reportedly attracting attention from more than one top club, one of which is Chelsea. The Blues hope to beat others to the French international, including the French giants Paris Saint-Germain, by offering to treble the player’s wages should he decide to make the move to London, in accordance with information from the Mirror.

The Foxes’ star was one of the more impressive in the side’s odds-defying title win last season, not coming as a surprise that Chelsea are trying hard to draw him away from the King Power Stadium.

His box-to-box style of play and his ability to help the team both on and off the ball came as a great asset to the Premier League champions in their recently-ending campaign.

If the rumoured deal becomes reality, Chelsea would be expanding their already large selection of midfield options, Kante demonstrating in the season just gone he is more than capable of playing at a high level and competing with the best in the Premier League.
