Chelsea transfer: Fans react as Robert Lewandowski is linked
Chelsea are keen to make an astonishing move to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to The Sun. Following the news, supporters have been discussing his potential arrival on Twitter.
Lewandowski is currently enjoying an extended break after his Euro 2020 involvement. His future at Bayern could be up in the air though, with Chelsea keen to pounce.
Last season was an incredible one for the talisman. He scored 48 goals from just 40 appearances and reaffirmed himself as the best centre-forward in world football.
Now, Chelsea are prepared to swoop. Thomas Tuchel is keen to bolster his ranks with a new striker during the transfer window.
7 Footballers Playing In The WRONG Position
Tammy Abraham could leave, whilst Olivier Giroud has now joined AC Milan. Timo Werner is still under contract, although he fired just 11 goals during his maiden Premier League campaign.
Lewandowski’s goalscoring record in Germany has been sensational. In 350 Bundesliga outings, he’s found the net 277 times and registered 71 assists.
Prising him away from Bayern won’t come easily. He does, however, have just two years to run on his existing deal and that could see a window of opportunity present itself.
German legend Jurgen Klinsmann previously labelled the striker as ‘phenomenal’ during an interview with the Bundesliga website.
Chelsea in for Lewandowski: Supporters would welcome Stamford Bridge arrival
Naturally, the Chelsea fan base are quite happy to see their team linked with a player boasting as much quality as the Bayern star.
Whether or not the club can sign him is another matter altogether. As a result, some do concede that landing him this summer could prove tricky.
He would be a tremendous piece of business and at £50 million he’d represent an absolute steal, given how inflated the market is likely to be this summer.
Following the links to the £350,000-a-week player, fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the move and here is what they had to say about the rumours.
