Chelsea and Liverpool have both made proposals to Saul Niguez over a summer move to the Premier League. The Atletico Madrid star could be available for as little as £34 million this summer.
The midfielder looks set to leave the Wanda Metropolitano during the transfer window. Barcelona are very keen, although their financial predicament could scupper a deal.
Ronald Koeman is keen to offer Antoine Griezmann to Atletico in a swap. A deal does seem to be nowhere near certain at this stage, however.

With that in mind, both Chelsea and Liverpool are making their own attempts to sign the Niguez during the transfer window.
Now, Fabrizio Romano claims Premier League clubs have made a move, with TEAMtalk claiming Liverpool and Chelsea interest.
The 26-year-old has proved something of a stalwart to Atletico. He has made 337 appearances and their supporters will desperately want him to stay.
That might not be possible though, with Diego Simeone looking to make his own plans in the transfer market.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool would give Niguez the chance to continue playing Champions League football next season.
He helped Atletico continue their strong form under Simeone by winning the La Liga title ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona last season.
Saul Niguez would be a quality signing for either Chelsea or Liverpool
Both clubs would provide the Atletico star with decent ambition. Chelsea and Liverpool will want to challenge for the title and he’d relish the chance to do that.
Niguez is an energetic performer, he gets around the pitch with ease and is a real grafter in the middle of the park.

At £34 million he’d represent a steal, with the player not even at the peak of his powers just yet. either.
In the current market, both Chelsea and Liverpool would struggle to find a player as accomplished for such a bargain price.
He does earn in the region of £200,000-a-week but given the bigger picture, he’d still represent a cracking signing for the Premier League duo.
