Chelsea: Shocking dressing room bust up; Fabregas nears move; defender discusses exit

Spanish newspaper Marca claim that there was a shocking fall out as Diego Costa and Antonio Conte squared up to each other in the dressing room during Chelsea’s win over Leicester City. Costa was seen making a gesture towards Conte, which many assumed to be a request to be substituted. Marca instead claim that he was frustrated by Conte’s constant demands of the 28-year-old, which sparked a row in the dressing room.

The pair reportedly had to be separated as tensions rose and it became a shouting match, with Costa telling his manager not to make such demands again and to get rid of him if he wasn’t happy with the standard of his performances. After rumours linking him with a move away in the summer, Costa’s days at Stamford Bridge seem increasingly numbered.

The Daily Star are reporting that bookies are slashing the odds on Cesc Fabregas completing a January move to AC Milan as speculation suggests that he met with directors in London earlier this week and is currently house hunting in Milan ahead of a move. With just one Premier League start to date, it is clear that he does not fit into Conte’s plans and an exit seems imminent.

Fabregas was claimed to be hoping for interest to emerge from Real Madrid, but instead he has now opted for a move to the San Siro as he grows increasingly frustrated with the lack of opportunities afforded to him by Conte after he was frozen out at the start of the season.

Another player who struggled for action, with just two Premier League appearances since joining the club in 2010, is Czech central defender Tomas Kalas, who has explained his loan move to Fulham, saying:

“To play games, that’s what I need. That’s the first point. The second point is to win something. I got promoted with Middlesbrough and I think Fulham have the squad to get promoted as well. The season has been a bit up and down so far, but we are close to the play-offs and there are so many games things can turn very quickly.”

The 23-year-old was once very highly rated by Chelsea bosses but has spent the past two years on loan at Koln and Middlesbrough and still remains far from the Blues first team.
