Chelsea set asking price for ‘unbelievable’ player wanted by Tottenham

Chelsea have reportedly set their asking price for one of their star players amid rumours that Tottenham are interested.

The two London sides are no strangers when it comes to doing business in the transfer market as well as sharing players and managers, with Tottenham legend Mauricio Pochettino leaving as Chelsea manager this season, as Spurs signed for former Blues striker Timo Werner on loan.

And this summer has seen the links once again extend, with Tottenham linked with a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who this week was left out of Enzo Maresca’s pre-season squad of the United States.

And Chelsea have now named their price for one player Tottenham are also interested in.

Chelsea set £55m demand for Tottenham target Conor Gallagher

According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea want as much as £55m for England international Conor Gallagher, a player Tottenham have been strongly linked with this summer, who is also wanted by the likes of Atletico Madrid.

Lauded as an ‘unbelievable’ player, Gallagher was arguably Chelsea’s best player outside of Cole Palmer last season under Pochettino, yet that hasn’t stopped the midfielder from being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Indeed, the recent sale of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has opened the door for Tottenham to move for a top midfielder to replace the Danish international, with Gallagher an obvious candidate for the north London side.

And with Chelsea naming their demands for Gallagher, Tottenham could be wise to consider a move for the Cobham graduate, who could be an outstanding player for Spurs heading into what could be an exciting new season.

Spurs need to bite the bullet and move for Gallagher soon

Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Gallagher has been around for what now feels like forever, with the north London side yet to make a real move for the midfielder despite how open Chelsea now are with selling one of their star players.

And with Chelsea’s demands now out in the open, Spurs need to bite the bullet and move for the England international, who under Ange Postecoglou could be a brilliant addition to Tottenham’s squad in the years to come.

Indeed, Gallagher’s treatment at Chelsea has been nothing short of poor in recent months, and Tottenham should be doing everything to use this to their advantage to bring the midfielder to N7 as soon as possible.
