The Telegraph report that Eden Hazard is set to be offered a new contract to ward off interest from Real Madrid, despite the Belgian already being the club’s top earner on £200,000 per week since signing a new deal only two years ago. With three years left on his existing contract, there is no rush, but it represents part of a long-term plan for the Blues.

Hazard has returned to his best form this season after a disappointing 2015/2016 campaign and has been linked with a move to Spain, alongside goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who could also be offered a new deal.

One potential addition in the summer transfer window could be Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, claim the Daily Mail. They suggest that the Blues are one of four top Premier League clubs chasing the England international, who was involved in the squad but failed to earn his first cap against Lithuania on Sunday.

Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City are also said to be tracking the progress of the 24-year-old who has been rock solid in one of the league’s best defences this season in spite of Boro’s poor performance seeing them embroiled in a relegation battle as they fail to find the net at the other end of the pitch.

The potential signing of Gibson would cast one eye to the future as the club consider life without captain John Terry next season, and the Daily Mail say that another prospect for the future could be on his way out of the club as Red Bull Leipzig are the latest team to be linked with young hotshot Dominic Solanke.

The England youth international is set to see his contract expire at the end of the season and has been reluctant to put pen to paper on a new deal in west London after talks fell apart last year. Now, the Bundesliga club, who have a reputation for picking up young prospects, have joined a list of potential suitors.
