ESPN claim that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is targeting winger Willian as he looks to bring in two new forwards to his Manchester United team. The Brazilian has played a key role for the Blues this season after winning the club’s player of the year award last season, but has been restricted to a rotation role under Antonio Conte.

It remains to be seen if he wants to move north or remain in London this summer, but if United are willing to break the bank for Willian, it could make sense for Chelsea to sell him in order to fund their additions. However, given that he is exactly the kind of quality that the side need in depth, the asking price could be a very high one.

One potential replacement could be Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, who has been linked with the club by Metro, who also quote Sam Allardyce as revealing that he would have a £40 million price tag on his head if anyone wants to take him away from Selhurst Park this summer:

“Personally, in today’s market, absolutely (he’s worth £40m). I just hope no one bids it… As far as I know, Wilfried’s contract has a considerable amount of time on it. The summer will bring with it whatever it brings whether that is us negotiating a new contract with him and he wants to stay, or whether some outrageous bid comes along.”

The Ivory Coast international has been a revelation for Palace this season as he finally looks to be reaching the potential that previously earned him a move to Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in the dugout. With Tottenham also interested, it could be one to keep an eye on.

In a negative headline for the club, the Independent state that they believe Chelsea to be one of the clubs affected by HMRC’s investigations into tax fraud in football. A spokesman for the club responded to the claims by telling the online newspaper:

“In connection with its wider investigation HMRC has requested certain information which the club will provide.”

Whilst there was no search or warrant to search Chelsea’s offices, as was the case with Newcastle United and West Ham, the London outfit are involved in the investigation and are clearly co-operating with the authorities.
