The Sun claim that Chelsea are leading the race for in-demand Torino striker Andrea Belotti with a summer move seeming increasingly likely. The news comes after quotes made by the Italian to Sky Sports Italia, in which he said:
“The World Cup is the dream for any player, just like the Champions League. I never stopped to think about the weight of my price tag, because I always thought I should prove my worth on the pitch and those performances would ultimately set my value.”
The forward has scored 27 goals in 34 games this season and has been a revelation, also making his breakthrough with the Italian international team, which was previously managed by Antonio Conte. The Blues could now look to exercise his release clause worth a huge £84 million.
However, another Serie A target could be set to escape Conte and Chelsea as Italian outlet Calciomercato suggest that Atlanta midfielder Franck Kessie is in talks with AC Milan. The reports suggests terms have already been settled, with the San Siro club now only having to agree a fee.
The 20-year-old has put his name on the map this season, becoming a crucial player for his side in the heart of midfield, but it now seems that the Ivory Coast international will remain in Italy rather than move to London this summer.
Another youngster who has put himself in the shop window is Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham as the 19-year-old has scored 26 goals in 47 games to almost single-handedly keep Bristol City in the Championship. Now, the Sun state that already promoted Brighton & Hove Albion are looking into taking him to the south coast next season on loan.
It seems unlikely that the England under 21 international would have much of a role to play in the Chelsea first team set-up and could instead be keen to try his skills in the Premier League and gain vital experience, something which he would be able to do if he were to join Chris Hughton and co.
