Star man Eden Hazard has revealed that there have been no talks over a new contract at Stamford Bridge just yet, despite interest in his services from Real Madrid, as he told Sky Sports:

“There is no sign of a new contract for the moment. I am focused on the last month, and we will talk later. It’s not in my mind now. I have two or three years left. I just want to finish the season well and we will see afterwards.”

The Belgian still has three years left on his existing deal, but it could soon become a top priority for the Blues to ensure that the forward is committed to the club in the long term as they look to build a side around the 26-year-old and his incredible talents in attack.

Hazard was one of those on the scoresheet last night as the team took one step closer to the Premier League title with a win over Southampton, having looked nervous at times in the first half. Manager Antonio Conte told the press, as quoted by the club website:

“The most important thing is to look at ourselves, tonight was a big win for us. Above all, when you have to play two-and-a-half days after a really strong game when we reached the final of the FA Cup. Now for us it’s very important to try to fight and try to win the title.

“It wasn’t easy, we faced a very strong team who were rested for 10 days. They had no pressure so you can enjoy these type of games when you face the team who are top of the league. My players showed me a great will and desire to win the game. It’s important to rest tomorrow and prepare for another tough game at Everton.”

Gary Cahill was also on the score sheet with a crucial header whilst Diego Costa scored his first goal since 6th March to secure a last minute brace to send fans home happy despite seeing two former players score for the Saints in the form of Oriol Romeu and Ryan Bertrand.

Cahill returned to the team at the expense of Nathan Ake, who is one of two players subject to interest from Bournemouth according to the Mirror. They say that Eddie Howe will make a move for both Ake and second choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in a £25 million summer swoop for the duo.

The Cherries had a £10 million bid rejected for the goalkeeper in January and had Ake on loan at the Vitality Stadium for the first half of the season, but neither have played a major role for Chelsea since then despite the central defender making a rare start in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend.
