The Mirror claim that Asmir Begovic is expected to be subject to another summer bid from Bournemouth in the summer, with Eddie Howe reportedly ready to spend up to £10 million on the Serbian as a replacement for current first choice Artur Boruc.
The second choice ‘keeper was linked with a move to the south coast in January but a deal wasn’t completed, with the former Stoke man taking up his position in between the sticks in cup competitions and may feature this weekend with Thibaut Courtois a doubt through injury.
That deal may depend on a replacement being brought in, though, so it is no surprise to see claims in the Evening Standard that Chelsea will make a renewed effort to try to convince Celtic to part ways with their number one goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
The experienced stopper has Premier League experience at Sunderland and is also experienced at international level, as well as offering the valuable home-grown status, but may not want to leave a club where he is comfortably first choice simply to sit on the bench elsewhere at such a late stage in his career.
Further forward, the club are also believed to be looking into the possibility of signing Inter Milan’s Croatian winger Ivan Perisic as TuttoMercatoWeb claim that the club have sent scouts to watch the 28-year-old, with a number of top clubs interested in his services.
A summer bid could follow, with the creative wide man likely to provide competition for the likes of Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard on the flanks which has been lacking in recent weeks with the trio getting little rest, which could pose a real problem with the added fixtures from the Champions League next season.
