Despite most speculation seemingly pointing to Tiemoue Bakayoko’s move to Stamford Bridge being a done deal, the Daily Star now report that Manchester United have agreed a £35 million fee with the Ligue 1 side for the French international. It could mean that United twice shock Chelsea over one of their top targets in a matter of days.
The Blues have been holding off the deal after being unable to sell Nemanja Matic, with bosses reluctant to sell the Serbian to Manchester United, the only club willing to pay the £40 million asking price. Now it seems that the Red Devils may have turned their attentions elsewhere, potentially at Chelsea’s expense.
One player who Chelsea can be confident isn’t going to be poached by United is Alvaro Morata. After United withdrew their interest, Spanish newspaper AS now say that Antonio Conte’s side are preparing a bid worth €80 million (£70 million) for the Real Madrid centre forward.
United had been unable to meet the European champions’ asking price, but such a bid would be enough to please Zinedine Zidane’s club. If the reports are true, it could only be a matter of time before the Spanish international is being announced as a Chelsea player to lead the new look front line at Stamford Bridge.

Someone who won’t have much of a role to play in west London next season is young midfielder Reuben Loftus-Cheek as the Telegraph say that he is near to completing a loan move to London neighbours Crystal Palace. The move will see him become new boss Frank de Boer’s first signing for the Eagles.
The 21-year-old will spend the whole season at Selhurst Park and will hope to make more of an impression than team-mate Loic Remy made in his stint in south London. Having played just 32 minutes of Premier League football across six substitute appearances last season, he will be hoping to prove himself in the top flight.
