The Sun claim that Real Madrid bosses have already held initial talks over a potential work record breaking bis worth £100 million to bring Eden Hazard to the Santiago Bernabéu this summer as the club’s major Galáctico signing. The Belgian has been linked with the Spanish side since he moved to London but his incredible form this season has revived the rumours.
It’s thought that initial contact has been made with Hazard’s team to put feelers out regarding a move, but it remains unclear if Chelsea would be forced to sell by such a huge bid, which would smash the record set by Manchester United’s £89 million signing of Paul Pogba last summer.
He could be one of two Chelsea players to move to Spain this summer as Catalan newspaper Sport indicate that defender Cesar Azpilicueta could be a top target for new Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, as the former Athletic Bilbao boss builds his own side after arriving at the Nou Camp earlier this week.
The defender has been superb since moving to central defence this season and has previously discussed the possibility of returning to Spain at one point in his career, though he may be reluctant to leave Stamford Bridge just yet.
Any sale could go towards a purchase, say the Independent, as they report that the club are in talks over a £42 million deal for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. The central midfield dynamo has been a revelation for the Ligue Un champions this seasons with his powerful displays and has the caught the eye of a number of top Premier League clubs.
The switch could become even more important for the Blues as Manchester United’s interest in Nemanja Matic grows with the Serbian holding out in talks over a new contract, with his existing deal running out next summer.
