Chelsea round-up: £90million move possible; Barcelona want Hazard; Costa rejects exit

Chelsea could still launch a sensational move this summer to bring a global superstar to Stamford Bridge. That’s according to Spanish outlet Marca, who claim that Real Madrid could look to sell Gareth Bale to make room for Kylian Mbappe, with the Stamford Bridge outfit interested in bringing the Welshman back to London.

Real would demand at least €100 million (£90.3 million) for the forward, with Manchester United also considering a bid to bring him back to the Premier League. If true, Chelsea will look to act quickly to trump former manager Jose Mourinho to one of his club’s top long-term targets.

However, less positive news could involve Real Madrid’s major rival Barcelona. The Sun say that the Catalans are considering a similar €100 million (£90.3 million) move for Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard as a potential replacement for Neymar when he moves on to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of £198 million.

Chelsea would be understandably reluctant to sell, with Antonio Conte keen to build a team around the Belgian, but such a huge fee may test their resolve. One option could be that Blues look to effectively replace Hazard with Bale in an ambitious and controversial move. Either way, it seems that the club’s major transfer business could be yet to happen this summer.

One man who is much further away from a move is Diego Costa. The Sun claim that the Spanish striker has rejected a loan move to AC Milan. It is the latest step in Costa’s plans to force through a return to Atletico Madrid in January, when the Spanish club’s transfer ban has come to an end and they are able to register players once again.

That move could mean that Chelsea are forced to fork out £185,000 per week until January, amassing a total cost of £3.7 million. That would be an expensive cost to the club, who will be desperate to get rid this summer.
