Antonio Conte is looking to up Chelsea’s efforts in the transfer market and bring in further additions to his Chelsea squad. The Sun say that those efforts could include a move for Everton midfielder Tom Davies. The teenager became a regular under Ronald Koeman with some impressive displays last season.
Everton are likely to be desperate to hold on to the 19-year-old, but Conte could see him as a top target. Given the immediate impact he made at Goodison Park, he could fit in well in the middle of the park at Stamford Bridge. However, he might be reluctant to give up his first team spot at Everton to fight for a place at Chelsea.
Another youngster being linked with the club is Celtic’s Moussa Dembele. Sky Sports say that Chelsea made a move for the former Fulham man in January, while RMC Sport now report that he could force a move away from Scotland. Marseille and West Ham are also said to be interested.
Dembele moved from west London to Scotland for just £500,000 last summer, and went on to score 32 goals in 49 games for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Now, he could consider another move, despite having already featured for the Hoops in their Champions League qualifiers against Linfield.
He may replace the outgoing Diego Costa, as Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claims that his agent, Jorge Mendes, is involved in negotiations with AC Milan over a potential move for the Spaniard. Costa is expected to leave Chelsea this summer, but it is not yet clear where his destination will be.
Atletico Madrid were the early favourites but their transfer ban would prevent him from playing for the club until January. In a World Cup year, that provides them with a major disadvantage and could allow Milan to swoop for the striker.
