Antonio Conte is continuing to look to add to his squad and The Sun say that Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be one of those targeted. The England international could prove to be a versatile option given that he has featured at wing-back, as a winger and in central midfield.

With only one year left, he could come at a bargain price, even if Arsenal are reluctant to sell. With three of the six homegrown registered players from last season’s 25 man squad having left the club, Conte is aware that he needs to add more British talent to his team.

One player who would not count for squad registration purposes would be 19-year-old Renato Sanches. He would fall outside the age restrictions that have to be registered, and the London Evening Standard say that the Blues have made a move for the Portugal star who is likely to leave Bayern Munich.

Having moved from Benfica for £40 million only a year ago, he managed just over 600 minutes in the Bundesliga last season in a disappointing return. Now, the Germans are looking to send Sanches out on a two year loan in order to gain more regular first team football.

He may be an alternative to another player who is entering into the final year of his contract. The London Evening Standard claim that Chelsea have joined Arsenal and Tottenham in their pursuit of Everton’s Ross Barkley. The young attacking midfielder is also set to leave his club this summer transfer window.

The Toffees are still demanding £50 million for the 23-year-old, who also boasts homegrown status. What may prove more difficult to overcome are his wage demands, which would be at least £100,000 per week. With two other big clubs chasing Barkley, he may not be a top priority for the club.
