Chelsea would accept a bid of £11 million from Tottenham for Olivier Giroud provided they can sign a replacement striker before the transfer deadline.
According to the Telegraph, the Blues have set the asking price which would take the former Arsenal striker back to north London.
Given Tammy Abraham’s ankle injury, Giroud’s departure depends on whether Frank Lampard can get an alternative hitman through the door as the hours tick down.
The Sun recently reported that Daniel Levy has made just £10 million available for Jose Mourinho to sign a new striker.
Although it would perhaps be typical Levy to haggle over £1 million and miss out on a striker, Spurs fans would like to think that an agreement could be reached for the sake of such a relatively nominal amount.

TBR’s View – Will Chelsea be able to get a new striker?
Giroud would be a vastly experienced signing for Spurs, with 201 club goals in his career (Transfermarkt). He has been criticised down the years but won the World Cup with France by offering an effective foil for a pacy frontline.
He could take up a similar role at Tottenham – with the added bonus of potentially winding up Arsenal fans – but the report makes it clear that his exit depends on Chelsea landing a replacement first.
Dries Mertens is named in the report but it is clear that Napoli and Chelsea are a long way from agreeing a deal.
There may not be too many players with Premier League experience who come up today and fit into Levy’s strict budget, but this one looks to depend on what Chelsea can do so they’re not left short.
