One of his less effective displays this season, struggling to track back and offer the defensive solidity that this Chelsea side has possessed in recent weeks.

Nemanja Matic – 8

A return to his very best form and clearly enjoys playing alongside Kante. His vision was vital in the transition between defence and attack and commanded the midfield without giving Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a moment’s peace.

N’Golo Kante – 8

Does he ever run out of energy? Tireless and didn’t stop from the first minute to the last, constantly looking to win the ball and showed all the best of his distribution with a great range of passing.

Continues to look a threat in the opposition half, his determination to get on the end of a looping ball to open the scoring was a trademark of his growing influence.
