Victor Moses – 5

Went close when his shot deflected narrowly wide from a corner routine straight from the training ground. Other than that, he had no real influence on the game on one of his more disappointing displays.

N’Golo Kante – 7

The heart of this Chelsea side, he powered through the full 90 minutes and never looked tired. Closed down Everton’s midfield whenever they got on the ball and looked to set up attacks of his own when he was in possession.

Nemanja Matic – 5

Lost his individual battle with young Tom Davies as the teenager caught him out time and time again by pouncing when the Serbian was in possession and looking for a pass.

Marcos Alonso – 6

Not tested defensively as some other bigger sides have aimed to do, but he was not as his best when on the move going forwards either. Looked to stretch the game whenever possible, only to little effect.
