Cesar Azpilicueta – 8

Strong and composed in defence, was once beaten by Enner Valencia but then ensured that he didn’t allow it to be repeated with his strength winning the battle with Valencia’s pace. Assured throughout.

David Luiz – 5

Struggled in a very physical battle with Romelu Lukaku at times, with Lukaku winning many of the aerial balls. That seemed to unnerve the Brazilian, though he did almost set up Diego Costa to score with a great pass.

Gary Cahill – 6

His goal was crucial in calming Chelsea’s nerves in the closing stages and seeing out the result, he did well up against Lukaku even if he was beaten on more than one occasion.
