After a tense first half, for much of the clash at Goodison Park, it seemed as though Chelsea may have dropped two crucial points in their race for the league title. However, that was not to be the case after a superb final 25 minutes gave the Blues the win.

Both sides had gone close early on, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin hitting the post only two minutes in, but it was Pedro’s screamer that changed the game as he turned Everton inside and out before firing into the top corner.

Gary Cahill added a second to all but seal the win as he pounced on an Eden Hazard free-kick and was the one to get on the end of a goalmouth scramble as Maarten Steklenburg deflected the ball onto Cahill’s shin and into the net.

Then, in the final moments, superb link up play between Cesc Fabregas and Willian saw the one substitute set up another to allow the Brazilian to tap home into an almost empty goalmouth to give Chelsea three points towards the league title.
