His pace was a real threat and he went close on several occasions, hitting the crossbar within ten seconds of the second half kicking off. Created chances for others too and was involved in the build up to the first goal.

Diego Costa – 7

Opened the scoring with a cool and composed finish between the legs of Brad Guzan after a great run and team move, and could have had at least two more sliding in at the far post. Did well in a physical battle and avoided boiling over as it looked possible to happen at some points.

Eden Hazard – 7

Caused problems with his direct running and drive which Boro couldn’t handle, often hacking him down, but seemed to be holding back somewhat after the Blues made the breakthrough. Was taken off early to give him some rest ahead of a crucial game on Friday.
