Cesar Azpilicueta – 5

Uncharacteristically poor, he made one good block to kill off an Arsenal counter attack and never gave up but he looked sloppy in possession and was given the run around by Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck.

David Luiz – 5

Switched off to allow Aaron Ramsey to re-take the lead with his concentration nowhere to be seen after earlier stopping to wait for a whistle, allowing Alexis Sanchez to open the scoring. Struggled to control Danny Welbeck with his pace and movement.

Gary Cahill – 6

Made a superb goal-line clearance and saved Chelsea’s lives on more than one occasion. The pick of the back three, Cahill was crucial to stop the Gunners from extending their lead with several blocks and clearances at crucial moments, though critics could say he should have stopped the Arsenal cross which led to the second goal.
