Chelsea are looking at signing another exciting young talent for their already big squad, this time in the form of Metz’s Lamine Camara.
Camara is emerging as one of the stars of Ligue 1 after having an instant impression on proceedings since arriving. The teenager scored a stunning goal from inside his own half in October, and he’s continued to shine since.
However, his form has caught the eye of top European clubs. Metz are expecting a bid or two for their 19-year-old star. And according to The Guardian, it is Chelsea who are looking to pip the rest.
Chelsea looking to sign Lamine Camara
The report claims that Chelsea and Brighton are the two main English clubs keeping an eye on Camara at the moment.
As we know, both Chelsea and Brighton are trying to keep up with bringing in exciting young players and Camara fits the bill.
The same report states how the Senegal midfielder has already drawn comparisons to Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne, and legendary German midfielder, Toni Kroos.

Of course, it’s early days to really see how true those comparisons are.
But it seems Chelsea could be looking to get ahead of the curve here. After paying over the odds for players like Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, the Blues could look to land Camara early and develop from within.
Another exciting talent
At the end of the day, Metz have no chance of keeping hold of someone like Lamine Camara. When clubs like Chelsea are already sniffing, it becomes about how much money they can now get.
For Chelsea, it will be interesting to see how they go about this one. Do they go straight in with a huge bid and just blow everyone away? Or do they go more measured, and try to do good business with Metz.
Certainly, if Brighton are in the mix then Todd Boehly and co will need to move fast.
But if the Blues do come in, then there’s no doubt Camara will be keen on the move.
