Chelsea January 2013 Transfer Targets
The January transfer is officially under a month away. Chelsea continue to be frustrated by poor results, as two draws and a loss under new manager Rafael Benitez are sure to have Roman Abramovich panicking.
However, the rumour mill continues to flourish around the possible transfers of some of the biggest stars to Stamford Bridge over the course of the next few months.
Here is the latest speculation regarding the players who have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this January.
Andre Schurrle
Bayer Leverkusen star Andere Schurrle is one of the latest to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The talented Bundesliga star has impressed so far this season and remains a target for the Blues again in January according to the Mirror.
He had also been a rumoured target for Robert Di Matteo before he was sacked.
Luis Suarez
The Blues have also been linked with a massive bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Considering the last major money move from Liverpool to the Bridge has not worked out, Abramovich would be anxious to make this deal a success.
However, with Liverpool having just signed Suarez to a new contract over the summer this is likely nothing more than rumour.
Radamel Falcao
Radamel Falcao appears to be the most wanted Chelsea target of the coming January transfer window.
However, according to reports from Sky Sports, it appears that the player is happy to remain in Spain for the time, but one day he might like to experience the challenge of the English Premier League.
Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo made sure to reiterate that his player remains happy and focused at his current club where his deal does not expire until 2016.
Taison
Metalist Kharkhiv’s Taison is yet another young Brazilian player being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old forward is being watched Chelsea according to the Telegraph. The club could make a move this January.
Raheem Sterling
One Liverpool youngster that is on the minds of every major club in the English Premier League at the moment is Raheem Sterling.
The Guardian claims that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is doing his best to make sure that the youngster signs a new five-year deal, but links to both Chelsea and Manchester City are making waves around the future of the player.
Wallace Oliveira dos Santos
Fluminense full back Wallace Oliveira dos Santos has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The defender had previously been linked with Chelsea earlier this month, but the arrival of Rafael Benitez has caused speculation to re-emerge.
Leandro Damiao
Brazil striker Leonardo Damiao is keen to join his former Internacional team-mate Oscar at Chelsea. The 23-year-old would cost the Blues around £15m.
Willian
Chelsea look set to battle Manchester City in the race for Shaktar Donetsk’s Willian.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder would be open to a move to the Premier League and Chelsea are keen to add him to their squad.
