Chelsea: Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic linked; Kalidou Koulibaly switch possible; Antonio Conte wants Premier League duo

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera claim that Inter Milan are ready to cash in on Chelsea’s interest in winger Ivan Perisic and allow the Croatian to complete a £55 million move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, should the Blues make a bid, with the Italians looking to rebuild their squad with the money.

The 28-year-old has been impressive since joining from Wolfsburg, scoring 10 and assisting a further nine goals this season alone, and has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United with a Premier League switch in the summer looking increasingly likely.

Another man could make the move from the Serie A to London as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed that he would not stand in the way of Kalidou Koulibaly if Chelsea come calling again. The Express and the Sun have translated quotes from an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport in which he said:

“If there’s a new offer from Chelsea for Koulibaly? It will depend on the player’s will, because if he doesn’t want to stay then he can leave.”

The Blues were believed to have had several bids for the Senegalese international rejected last summer, but could return with more attempts to bring him to Stamford Bridge as they look to replace John Terry and add depth to their squad, and they could certainly do worse than the 25-year-old.

Another option at the heart of defence is thought to be Southampton star Virgil Van Dijk, say the Mirror. The Dutchman could form part of the rebuilding project which will begin after Terry’s departure when his contract expires at the end of the current season after 19 years at the club.

Van Dijk could form part of a £120 million investment which would also bring Romelu Lukaku back to his former club after a prolific spell on Merseyside at Everton, with Conte confident that the Belgian could be the man to lead the front line in his new look side as they face up to the Champions League and potentially, a title defence too.
