Chelsea fans wowed by Conor Gallagher display as West Brom lose

West Brom lost 2-1 to Liverpool yesterday as Alisson Becker scored a last-gasp winner. Despite that, Chelsea fans were extremely pleased with their on-loan midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The youngster has been on loan at The Hawthorns for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign. He excelled with Swansea last season and has made the step up to Premier League football this term.

Gallagher could earn a chance at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel next season and it would seem as though the club’s supporters would certainly welcome that.

The 21-year-old has scored twice and claimed two assists during 30 appearances for the Baggies. He is come on leaps and bounds and looks like a player with bags of potential.

Yesterday he was particularly energetic and didn’t really deserve to be on the losing team during the clash against last season’s champions.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Gallagher can win a place in Tuchel’s team next season and if so, what part he play for the Blues.

He has played largely as a central midfielder for the Albion but has also showcased an ability to play as a No.10.
