Chelsea fans urge Thomas Tuchel to keep Hakim Ziyech
Chelsea could be willing to let winger Hakim Ziyech leave during the summer transfer window, according to Calcio Mercato.
The Moroccan only arrived at Stamford Bridge during the summer of 2020. He cost the Blues £37 million but struggled during his maiden campaign.
Thomas Tuchel will want to bolster his ranks during the summer. As a result, some players will need to leave and Ziyech is in the firing line.
During the 2020/21 campaign, he made 39 appearances, scoring six goals and registering four assists.
He’s struggled for consistency though and managed to start just 15 matches in the Premier League.
Now, it’s claimed that Napoli could turn to the man with 16 goals in 35 outings for his country.
Calcio Mercato suggest Chelsea could be willing to sell the player in an attempt to raise funds for this summer’s recruitment drive.
At 28, the Blues must be anxious. If they are to recoup the majority of what they paid for the ex-Ajax man, they’ll need to act this summer.
Paid £100,000-a-week, Ziyech isn’t among the club’s high-earning players but those funds could help with Chelsea’s business.
Chelsea fans urge Tuchel against Ziyech sale
The Blues faithful have been reacting to the latest news and it seems they want their winger to stay.
It would be somewhat premature for him to leave the club after a single season.
He can clearly play and much like lots of other players, is simply taking some time to adapt to English football.
Chelsea will need recruits in order to mount a title challenge and they have a decision to make over Ziyech.
The supporters seem unanimous though and they think the player deserves another chance to impress next season.
Here is what the supporters have been saying about the future of Ziyech.
