Chelsea fans react on Twitter as West Ham reportedly chase Ross Barkley

A number of Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting that West Ham want to take Ross Barkley on loan this month.

Barkley has made just seven Premier League appearances for the Blues this season. But he did play the full 90 minutes at the weekend as Frank Lampard’s men thrashed Burnley.

Nevertheless, David Moyes is seemingly hoping to be reunited with the former Everton youngster.

The Daily Mirror has reported that the Irons want to sign Barkley on loan for the rest of the season.

It is suggested by the Mirror that the Blues have no interest in loaning the 26-year-old out during the January transfer window. But West Ham are seemingly hoping that Chelsea will change their stance.

And it appears that they are not the only ones.

Plenty of Chelsea fans have taken to social media to comment on the reports. And the large majority appear to feel that it is an offer that the Blues should be open to – on one condition.

While some have insisted that Barkley should go nowhere unless a replacement arrives, others believe that it would be a good opportunity to try and offload the England international.

They have suggested that Chelsea should let Barkley go if the Hammers commit to signing him permanently in the summer.

Some clearly feel that he is replaceable. And they are hoping that Lampard does change his mind and open the door for the midfielder to move on before the deadline passes.

Here is what some of the Chelsea supporters make of West Ham’s interest…
