West Ham United are reportedly interested in raiding Chelsea for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer but face stern competition from some top European sides – and Chelsea fans have responded on Twitter.
Bakayoko, 25, has endured a difficult time at Chelsea since he joined the club for £40million (Sky Sports) in the summer of 2017. An indifferent first season saw him loaned to AC Milan during 2018-19, where again, he was rather inconsistent.
A return to Monaco occured last summer and he has certainly regained his confidence during his 23 league and cup outings for the Ligue 1 side. He remains a Chelsea player, though, and this summer is likely to prove interesting.
French outlet Le10Sport claim West Ham want to hand Bakayoko the chance to remain in London, with David Moyes desperately needing additions in central midfield – given the injury issues surrounding both Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez.
However, West Ham are not alone in their pursuit of Bakayoko. His current loan side Monaco also want to land the France international, as do previous loan club Milan. He has an asking price of £31million, but could go on loan again.
Chelsea supporters reacted to the reported news that West Ham, Milan and Monaco are all keen on signing Bakayoko this summer and many are desperate to see him sold – even if it means he moves to the London Stadium.
