West Ham United and David Moyes are reportedly keeping tabs on Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour and could make a loan move for the Scottish star before the end of the January window – prompting reaction from Chelsea supporters.
Gilmour, 19, has broken into the Chelsea side over the past couple of seasons under Frank Lampard and is considered one of the best talents among the ranks at Stamford Bridge. But his game time might be significantly reduced, under Thomas Tuchel.
Lampard was giving the uncapped Scot game time here and there – starts in the Cup and the odd substitute appearance in the Premier League. But Tuchel’s first line-up suggests he will prefer experience, dropping numerous Lampard talents.

Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Reece James were all dropped from the starting XI – while Gilmour was missing from the entire matchday squad. The Mirror claim West Ham are considering a move for the £43,000-a-week (Spotrac) star.
The Hammers have Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in midfield, while captain Mark Noble offers cover – so it is difficult to see where Gilmour would start. With West Ham impressing above Chelsea, the Blues may decide against letting him go.
Chelsea fans reacted to the news that West Ham are reportedly considering a move for Gilmour – and they are in agreement. They are against loaning Gilmour to West Ham, a player that TransferMarkt claim has the same agent as Josh Cullen.
