Chelsea fans react as Tottenham reportedly eye move to sign Blues defender

Fabrizio Romano reports Tottenham will pursue a deal to sign Chelsea man Kurt Zouma, if a move for Cristian Romero falls through. Nikola Milenkovic and Takehiro Tomiyasu are also options if they fail to get Romero. Chelsea fans have given their take on Zouma potentially joining Tottenham.

Tottenham are expected to complete the signing of Copa America winner Cristian Romero, after Atalanta sign him permanently from Juventus. But Fabio Paratici is renowned for being in talks to sign numerous players at the same time. Tottenham, of course, might want more than one defender.

Romano claims that while a deal for Romero is set to go through, especially after the sale of Toby Alderweireld – Spurs are in talks for other defenders. France international Zouma is one of three, alongside Milenkovic and Tomiyasu. Frenchman Zouma is some way down the pecking order.

Chelsea do have numerous options at the back. With Thomas Tuchel playing with three at the back, the German gaffer has used Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta normally. Antonio Rudiger and Reece James have also played in a three-man defence.

Zouma has been in and out of the side under Tuchel. Despite that, though, Chelsea fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Tottenham are considering Zouma. Many want Zouma to stay at Stamford Bridge, while others want a swap deal involving Harry Kane.
