Chelsea fans react as Tottenham plan offer for Blues star
A number of Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a strong offer as they look to sign Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer.
Rudiger is currently set to be out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer. And Eurosport reports that he is looking almost certain to leave the Blues despite Thomas Tuchel being keen to keep him.
It has been suggested that Rudiger is considering options from abroad. But Spurs are also putting themselves in the running for the 28-year-old.
In fact, it has been claimed by Eurosport that Tottenham are planning to make a strong offer for the Germany international.
It would be a surprise if Rudiger ended up at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He has been superb for the Blues this season, missing just one Premier League game so far this season.
Spurs meanwhile, are looking to kick on under Antonio Conte. But it is clear that they have some way to go before they are back in the title picture in the top flight.
So it would be a huge statement if Tottenham could convince Rudiger to move across London next summer.
‘Quite funny that’: Chelsea fans react as Tottenham plot Rudiger offer
Certainly, there are plenty of Chelsea fans who do not believe that there is any chance of him leaving for Spurs. He is playing regularly for a title-challenger right now having won the Champions League last year.
And while a move to another European heavyweight may make sense, they cannot get their head around the idea of him wanting to join Tottenham.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Chelsea fans make of the links with Spurs…
We can’t let spurs get him.ffs

Even if he leaves, can’t see him going there. They have a strict wage structure as well as the fact he won’t win anything. He’ll make more money and have a better chance at winning things abroad. https://t.co/uytVkdPqGo
