Goal have suggested that Kurt Zouma would be willing to listen to offers this summer, although he won’t push for a move away from Chelsea yet.
The 26-year-old made 36 appearances for the Blues during the 2020/21 campaign.
He did struggle for game time towards the end of the season, however, and was on the bench as Chelsea won the Champions League.
Now, it is claimed that Zouma is keen to see what is out there, although he won’t demand to leave just yet.
Thomas Tuchel will want to reshape his squad next season, as he plots an assault on the Premier League.
That could see him make some changes. If he manages to land one of his defensive targets, Zouma could be deemed surplus.
The French defender has played 150 times for the Blues in total. He’s also spent time on loan with Stoke and Everton.
Chelsea do have a plethora of options at the back, with Tiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger all scrapping it out for places.
Marc Guehi and Ethan Ampadu will also return from loan spells ahead of next season.
Zouma to leave Chelsea: Supporters would back such a decision
A quick look on Twitter would suggest that plenty of supporters would relish any decision which sees Zouma leave.
The eight-time France international isn’t among the big earners at Stamford Bridge, earning in the region of £40,000-a-week.
As a result, Chelsea might play the waiting game. If they don’t land a defender in the summer, perhaps Tuchel will hand him a chance once again.
That said, it doesn’t seem as though supporters are overly bothered and they’d welcome an exit.
Many think Zouma isn’t of the required quality and would be happy to see him move on this summer.
